Rheinmetall Expal reports profit rise and resumes dividends

Rheinmetall Expal Munitions, the Spanish subsidiary of the German defense giant Rheinmetall, has reported an 18% increase in net profit, reaching 245 million euros. The company also achieved an accumulated order volume of 1.725 billion euros, which is 2.4 times its revenue.

Following its acquisition by Rheinmetall in 2023, the munitions and explosives specialist has resumed dividend payments after a three-year hiatus, distributing 100 million euros. This growth is attributed to increased government orders driven by conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, contributing to a positive outlook for the European defense sector.

The Spanish company maintains facilities in Trubia, Albacete, Burgos, Murcia, and Navalmoral de la Mata. While the acquisition was challenged by rival KNDS, the Supreme Court has not admitted the claims to date.
