Rheinmetall secures defense contracts in Denmark and Germany
Rheinmetall has secured a contract from the Danish Armed Forces to supply its Multi Ammunition Softkill System (MASS) for use on Absalon-class and Iver Huitfeldt-class frigates, as well as the Royal Danish Navy's weapons school. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Additionally, the company has received an extension to its contract with the German Bundeswehr for mobile rescue stations. This additional order, valued at over €500 million, increases the total number of systems to 165, with a total gross value exceeding €600 million. Production for these medical facilities is expected to start in the first quarter of 2027.
These recent agreements contribute to Rheinmetall's record order backlog, which reached €80.5 billion by the end of the second quarter. The company has set a target to reach a backlog of between €100 billion and €120 billion by the end of 2026.
