Rheinmetall secures multi-million euro naval defense contract from Denmark
Rheinmetall has secured a multi-million euro contract from the Danish Armed Forces to supply its MASS (Multi Ammunition Softkill Systems) decoy system. The technology is designed to protect naval vessels from diverse threats, including anti-ship missiles and laser-guided weapons, by providing multispectral deception across radar, ultraviolet, electro-optical, laser, and infrared wavelengths.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with the order expected to be booked in the second quarter of 2026. The systems will be integrated into Absalon-class and Iver Huitfeldt-class frigates, as well as the Royal Danish Navy's weapons school. Additionally, the Danish military has ordered Omnitrap-ER decoys and signed a supply contract with a duration of up to 21 years.
Following the announcement, Rheinmetall shares saw an increase on the XETRA exchange, rising between 3% and 4%.
