Rheinstetten to Choose New Operator for Seegugger Beer Garden at Epplesee

The Seegugger beer garden at the Epplesee in Rheinstetten was destroyed by a fire in September 2025 and the ruins have been demolished. Current operator Harald Sieder is running a seasonal food‑truck while the site is cleared, but his lease ends in autumn 2026. The city council will decide on a new leaseholder in October after the three unnamed applicants submit required documents by mid‑August. Each applicant proposes a different concept for the future gastro venue, and the historic "Seegugger" name will not be revived; a new establishment is expected to open for the 2027 season. "The three applicants will submit the necessary paperwork by mid‑August and the council will review the applications from September to mid‑October," a city spokesperson said.
