Rhenus reports 30% growth in Spain-Latin America freight
Rhenus has reported a significant increase in freight volumes from Spain to Latin America, with export volumes on this trade corridor growing by more than 30% year-on-year. This growth has been observed in both air and ocean freight, positioning Spain as one of the strongest-performing European markets within the company’s network for this route.
Industrial sectors are the primary drivers of these flows. Specifically, raw materials and chemicals account for more than 60% of the company’s ocean export volumes from Spain to the region.
The company noted a shift in client profiles, observing that mid-sized Spanish industrial companies are increasingly incorporating Latin American markets into their expansion strategies, a trend previously dominated by large multinationals. This expansion is driving demand for more sophisticated logistics services, including enhanced supply chain visibility, greater operational control, and the ability to scale processes quickly.
