Rhenus reports growth in China to Europe freight volumes
Logistics provider Rhenus has reported significant increases in transport volumes on the trade route between China and Europe during the first part of 2026. Ahead of the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, the company announced that its ocean freight volume from China to Europe rose by approximately 26 percent compared to the previous year.
Despite facing challenges such as declining market demand, fluctuating transport capacities, and shifting trade and customs policies, Rhenus also achieved growth in air freight. The high-tech sector has emerged as a particularly important business field for the company. While ocean freight remains the company's most important maritime relation by volume, Europe serves as the most significant destination market for air freight shipments originating from China.
