Rhiblok climbing gym opens in Vaduz
Liechtenstein has officially opened its first climbing gym, the Rhiblok, located in the Mühleholz area of Vaduz. The project, spearheaded by the Liechtensteiner Alpenverein (LAV), was realized after 13 years of planning and multiple setbacks, including a location change from Schaan to Vaduz and previous funding rejections by local municipalities.
The facility spans 3,000 square meters across three floors and features climbing and bouldering areas, a family zone, group course areas, a children's fun park, and a professional bouldering section with a gym.
The total cost of the project was approximately 6.67 million Swiss francs. The state of Liechtenstein covered 80 percent of the investment, while the municipalities of Vaduz and Schaan each contributed 250,000 francs. The remaining funds were raised by the LAV through sponsors, foundations, private individuals, and crowdfunding.
