Rhine river low water reveals ancient artifacts near Koblenz

Low water levels in the Rhine near Koblenz have exposed various historical artifacts. Hobby archaeologist Christian Ganser recently discovered what appears to be a Bronze Age garment pin, potentially dating back 3,000 to 4,000 years.

Ganser, who operates with official research permits, reported finding the item alongside other historical traces, including 17th-century projectiles and ancient fishing tools. The current low water conditions are noted as being similar to those seen in 2018, providing rare access to the riverbed.
