Rhineland-Palatinate awards 39 gourmet craft businesses

Economic Minister Michael Ebling has presented the 2026 State Honor Award for Gourmet Craftsmanship (Landesehrenpreis Genushandwerk) to 39 businesses in Rhineland-Palatinate. The ceremony took place in Trier against the backdrop of the Porta Nigra during the ‘Porta Locals’ food festival.

The award recipients include 15 bakeries, 12 butcheries, six confectioneries, five ice cream manufacturers, and one brewery, Rheinhessen-Bräu GbR. Winners are permitted to use the distinction for marketing purposes for one year. Minister Ebling noted that the high level of competition reflects the quality and performance of the region's gourmet crafts, which combine tradition with modernity.
