Rheinland-Pfalz to reform collective bargaining laws amid industrial tension
Rheinland-Pfalz is planning to reform its state collective bargaining compliance law (Landestariftreuegesetz) to strengthen labor standards in public procurement. Labor Minister Sabine Bätzing-Lichtenthäler announced that the goal is to ensure fair competition and prevent wage dumping, particularly in sectors such as construction, cleaning, IT, and logistics. The first draft of the law is expected by the end of the year, with subsequent hearings involving industry associations and unions.
Simultaneously, the metal and electrical industries are bracing for intense collective bargaining negotiations this autumn.
