In the Rheinland‑Palatinate state parliament, opposition parties sharply rebuked the inaugural speech of new Minister‑President Gordon Schnieder (CDU). AfD faction leader Michael Büge described the 90‑minute address as a “cloudy list of promises” that failed to deliver on key CDU campaign pledges, while Green leader Katrin Eder called it uninspired and accused the government of abandoning promised programmes such as free school meals, a free Germany‑ticket for students, rural hospital guarantees and a ten‑minute emergency‑care response.
