Rhône education assistants face payroll errors due to software update

Education assistants (AED) in the Rhône region of France have experienced payroll errors due to a software update from a payroll provider. The error resulted in overpayments in July, with the discrepancy potentially doubling in August for full-time employees.

The Rectorat has stated that the issue affects all assistants paid through Lycée Monplaisir Lumière and that the technical error has since been corrected. While the administration initially planned to recover the funds during the September pay cycle—ensuring employees retain a minimum amount equivalent to the RSA—the SNES-FSU union has criticized the move. The union argues that staff with low wages should not bear the burden of administrative technical errors and is requesting that reimbursements be spread out over several months. In response to these concerns, the Rectorat is considering a technical solution to implement a repayment schedule.
