Rhône Valley stations to host gatherings following rail service dispute

User associations and local officials in the Rhône Valley are organizing gatherings at six railway stations on October 24, 2026. The demonstrations, spanning from Bourg-Saint-Andéol in Ardèche to Condrieu in Rhône and Loire, follow a decision by the SNCF to deny requests from the Collectif des usagers des transports publics en Sud-Ardèche (Cutpsa) and the Association des usagers des TER de la Vallée du Rhône (AuterVR) to run a festive event train.

Protest locations include Bourg Saint-Andéol-Viviers, Le Teil, Le Pouzin, Serrières, Saint-Péray, and Condrieu. Advocates argue that reopening rail traffic on the right bank of the Rhône between Lyon and Bourg-Saint-Andéol would improve transport quality on the left bank between Lyon and Valence. Efforts to restore service have been ongoing since April 2026.
