Rhöner Bauernladen marks 30 years of regional food at Fladungen museum
The Rhöner Bauernladen, a farm shop at the Fränkisches Freilandmuseum in Fladungen, celebrated its 30th anniversary on 5 August 2026. Store operator Martina Seufert was presented with a flower bouquet by museum director Niklas Hertwig, deputy director Linda Wolters and Bernd Hückl, a representative of the Rhöner Bauernladen GbR.
The shop, founded in 1996 under a lease with the museum, brings together several local farming families—including the Eisenmanns, Hohmanns, Horsch, Hückls, Justs, Riedels and Schlereths—to sell regional specialties such as bread, meat, cheese, eggs, noodles, liqueurs, oils, vinegars, mustard, muesli and fruit spreads. Visitors from the surrounding area and even from the Rhein‑Main region travel to the shop, highlighting its role in preserving short‑supply‑chain food and the cultural landscape of the Rhön.
Museum officials emphasized that the shop exemplifies trust between producers and customers and showcases the continuity of regional agriculture across generations.
