Rho activists protest against new data center construction

Protesters in Rho are organizing a demonstration on October 3 to oppose the construction of new data centers in the Rhodense area. A network of local committees, associations, and political groups is calling for a moratorium on new authorizations and a halt to ongoing projects, specifically citing the ATU4 project in the former Nilit area.

The organizers are demanding a cumulative strategic environmental assessment and supra-municipal planning to ensure community needs are prioritized over the profits of technology multinationals. They have identified three specific projects in Rho and suggest there are eight such developments planned across the broader Rhodense territory.
