Rhodes coastal cleanups: DEH and Project PARALIES collect 295 kg of waste

DEH and Project PARALIES have extended their collaboration for the fifth consecutive year to protect Greek coastlines. This year, the 'Project PARALIES on the Road' initiative focused on the island of Rhodes for the first time.

During the summer, the program conducted 58 coastal cleanups across 45 different beaches on Rhodes. These efforts resulted in the collection of 295 kg of waste, comprising 37,285 individual items, including single-use plastics, cigarette butts, paper scraps, and plastic straws.

Employees from the Soroni and Kattavia power plants participated as volunteers, specifically targeting the Soroni and Prasonisi beaches. This group collected 210 kg of waste, equivalent to 10,790 pieces. The initiative is part of DEH's broader strategy for sustainable development and shared value creation in its operational areas. Over the three-year history of the 'on the Road' program, a total of 145 cleanups have been performed, removing over 410.2 kg of waste.
