Rhodes Municipality distributes defibrillators to sports facilities

The Municipality of Rhodes and its Sports Department have distributed automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to various sports facilities across the island to enhance safety for athletes, children, and citizens.

The first defibrillator was provided to the Colossus Rhodes Basketball Academies in memory of Georgios Matsamas. Other units were delivered to the Evklis Soronis Academies, the Ialysos Auxiliary Stadium, and the Diagoras Gymnastic Club to ensure immediate intervention capabilities during emergencies.

Additionally, a defibrillator was donated to the Rhodes Samaritans, Rescuers, and Lifeguards department of the Hellenic Red Cross to recognize their ongoing volunteer service at major sporting events. Michalis Plyngos, the Municipal Councilor for Sports, stated that the local authority is committed to creating safer conditions for all citizens through these enhancements.
