Rhodes: Norwegian man arrested following rape allegation

A 36-year-old Norwegian man was arrested in Kolymbia, Rhodes, after his 33-year-old partner called emergency services to report a rape. The incident reportedly occurred in their hotel room in the early hours of Sunday, October 25.

Following the initial report, police from the Archangelos station conducted a preliminary investigation. The woman underwent a psychological evaluation and a forensic medical examination, during which biological samples were collected.

However, the case took a turn when the woman appeared before the prosecutor and retracted her initial allegation. She stated that she had been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the call and had not fully grasped the gravity of her claims. Despite the retraction, legal proceedings are continuing, and the man is scheduled for questioning.
