Rhodes Palace of the Grand Master to undergo 11 million euro restoration
A major restoration and protection project for the Palace of the Grand Master in the Medieval City of Rhodes has been launched. The project is funded by 11 million euros sourced from European funds via the South Aegean Region.
South Aegean Governor George Hatjimarkos announced that the funding will be channeled through the Ministry of Culture to implement essential conservation interventions for the landmark. This initiative is part of a broader plan to enhance the historical character of the area, which includes other ongoing works such as the restoration of the Pervola walkway, the National Theatre, and various fortifications in Rhodes.
The Governor highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the South Aegean Region and the Ministry of Culture, led by Minister Lina Mendoni, to protect cultural monuments across the islands.
