Rhodes receives ministerial support for 2028 cultural candidacy
Rhodes has received official support from the Greek Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family in its bid to become the Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue for 2028. Following interventions by Dodecanese MP Giannis Pappas and cooperation with Minister Domna Michailidou, the Ministry issued a formal letter of support.
The Ministry's commitment focuses on promoting intercultural exchange, social inclusion, and dialogue. A key component of the candidacy is the involvement of the younger generation, utilizing the Rhodes Municipal Youth Council as an institutional channel for planning and implementing cultural actions. The Ministry intends to facilitate connections between youth organizations and national, European, and Euro-Mediterranean networks.
