Rhodes tourism season sees record cruise ship arrivals and passenger growth

Hotel representatives on the Greek island of Rhodes say the 2025 tourism season is accelerating, with expectations to surpass three million visitors – a 2 % rise over the previous year. The president of the Rhodes Hotel Association, Giannis Papavasiliou, noted that mass arrivals began on 28 March and are projected to continue through 30 November.

Rhodes Airport recorded 1,093,044 passengers in June, a 3.6 % increase from the same month in 2024, and international traffic topped one million for the first time. The United Kingdom led inbound traffic with 281,159 arrivals, followed by Germany, Poland, Israel and Sweden. Domestic flights saw a slight decline.

Cruise ship activity is also booming, with 55 cruise‑ship calls scheduled for August and four vessels expected to be docked on 10 August, underscoring Rhodes’ growing role in Mediterranean cruise itineraries.
