Rhythm Heaven Groove Leads Japan’s Weekly Game Sales, July 6‑12, 2026

Japan’s weekly video‑game software rankings for the period 6–12 July 2026 show Rhythm Heaven Groove remaining at the top, with 126,073 copies sold that week and a cumulative total exceeding 519,000 units. The week’s highest new entry was Magical Girl Witch Trials, which debuted with 21,283 copies. Other notable performers included Tomodachi Life (20,827 copies), Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (17,152 copies) and Echoes of Aincrad (16,092 copies). Several titles released for the Nintendo Switch 2 platform also appeared in the top ten, such as Digimon Story: Time Stranger (15,644 copies) and Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok (12,544 copies).

Hardware sales for the same week were led by the Nintendo Switch 2, which moved 28,755 units, bringing its installed base in Japan to just over 6 million consoles. The PlayStation 5 family sold a combined 11,384 units, while the Xbox series recorded a modest 157 units sold.
