Local administrations in Riace and Fiume Veneto face key developments

In Riace, the Prefecture of Reggio Calabria has appointed a budget commissioner following the failure to approve the municipal budget within the legally prescribed deadlines. This intervention, triggered by the lack of a solid majority in the City Council, aims to secure the municipality's finances and complete necessary accounting procedures. The move places Mayor Lucano, who is also a Member of the European Parliament, in a precarious political position as the administration faces potential paralysis.

In Fiume Veneto, local authorities and regional representatives held a meeting to review eight years of administration and discuss future territorial development. Since 2018, approximately 35 million euros have been mobilized for the area, with two-thirds of these funds already utilized for completed works. Key investments have focused on schools, roads, public lighting, sports facilities, and energy efficiency. The discussion also addressed social policies regarding families, youth, and the elderly, noting the town's demographic and economic growth.
