Riau Islands hosts Tri Lomba Juang and Tour de Bintan 2026

Various sporting and commemorative events are taking place in the Riau Islands region of Indonesia. In Tanjungpinang, 188 teams participated in the Tri Lomba Juang 2026 walking competition, a series of events marking the 81st anniversary of Indonesia's independence. The competition included categories of 8, 17, and 45 kilometers, with total prizes reaching hundreds of millions of rupiah funded by the regional budget.

Simultaneously, the Tour de Bintan 2026 cycling event is being held from August 21 to 23. The competition features 800 cyclists representing 42 countries, including participants from Singapore, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, and the Philippines. The event, which traverses routes from Lagoi Bay to Trikora, is expected to boost the local tourism economy by attracting approximately 2,000 accompanying tourists and 500 support crew members.
