Riau Police Chief visits Siak to honor Sultanate history

Riau Police Chief Inspector General Arman Achdiat has selected Siak Regency as the first location for his official working visits since taking office. During a meeting with Siak Regent Afni Zulkifli at the Balairung Datuk Empat Suku, Achdiat emphasized that the history of Riau Province is inseparable from the Siak Sultanate, noting that the kingdom played a foundational role in the development of the region and cities like Pekanbaru.

Regent Afni Zulkifli highlighted Siak’s diverse regional assets, including its Malay cultural heritage, tourism potential, and significant industries such as pulp and paper. She also emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, specifically regarding the Zamrud Lake area and the Sultan Syarif Hasyim Forest Park, which serve as habitats for Sumatran tigers and elephants.

Both officials expressed a commitment to strengthening synergy between the regional government and the police to maintain security, support economic activities, and protect the local environment.
