Riau Province explores pineapple plantation development for green economy
The Riau Provincial Government is evaluating the development of a pineapple plantation ecosystem to bolster the regional green economy. This initiative aims to provide economic benefits while supporting sustainable environmental management.
During the Green Connect #4 webinar, Regional Secretary Syahrial Abdi emphasized that low-carbon development requires collaboration between local government, the private sector, and civil society. The province is looking to integrate various ideas into a sustainable development program, utilizing the jurisdiction-based Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) approach to ensure coordinated policy and planning between provincial and district levels.
