Riau regional authorities address budget management and fund allocations

The Kepulauan Meranti Regency Government is collaborating with the Riau Provincial Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) to refine the 2026 Regional Budget (APBD) changes. This initiative aims to ensure budgeting complies with legal regulations and strengthens regional financial governance through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held in Pekanbaru.

Separately, the Riau Provincial Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) is urging the central government to re-evaluate regional transfer fund allocations. The DPRD argues that resource-rich provinces like Riau should receive more proportional funding to support infrastructure, education, and healthcare, noting that current fiscal limitations hinder strategic development despite the region's significant contribution to national revenue.
