Ribadavia road closure following bridge damage by crane truck

Traffic on the OU-406 highway has been suspended at the railway underpass in Ribadavia, Spain, after a construction truck with an attached crane struck the bridge structure. The impact, caused by the vehicle exceeding the height limit, resulted in damage to a concrete beam and the detachment of parts of the structure.

Authorities expressed concern regarding a lateral support beam that could cause debris to fall onto the roadway. While the damage affects the road, ADIF has confirmed that rail services for both passengers and freight remain operational, as the damaged beam is located outside the track area.

The Xunta de Galicia, in coordination with local police, has closed the road between kilometers 0+380 and 0+480. Drivers exiting the A-52 highway toward Ribadavia center are being diverted via the N-120 in A Quinza. The road will remain closed until technicians from ADIF and the Axencia Galega de Infraestruturas complete a definitive damage assessment and perform necessary repairs.
