Ribeira Brava hosts Festa Lusovenezuelana to bridge Madeira and Venezuela
The Festa Lusovenezuelana is being held at the Ribeira Brava waterfront, serving as a cultural link between Madeira and Venezuela. The event features music, gastronomy, and community interaction to strengthen ties with emigrant families and Luso-descendants.
This edition is designated as a 'Solidarity Edition.' Proceeds from merchandising sales will be donated to the Banco Alimentar na Venezuela, an institution led by Marianela Fernandes that supports vulnerable families.
Jorge Santos, the President of the Ribeira Brava Municipal Council, emphasized the municipality's role as a bridge between the two regions. Drawing on his personal background of being born in Venezuela, Santos highlighted the importance of maintaining connections with the Venezuelan community through social and cultural initiatives.
