Ribeirão Pires hosts Festival Sem Barreiras to promote inclusion

Ribeirão Pires held the second annual Festival Sem Barreiras at Parque Oriental, a free event focused on culture, sports, leisure, and social inclusion for people with disabilities. The initiative is part of the Municipal Barrier-Free Week, aimed at promoting accessibility and community participation.

Highlights of the program included theatrical performances, workshops, and a unique exhibition of 3D sculptures by the company Mágika. These sculptures included a 3D representation of the local landmark São José de Inox, allowing visually impaired attendees to experience the landmark through touch.

Leonardo Biazi, the Secretary of Assistance, Participation, and Social Inclusion, stated that the festival demonstrates that inclusion involves ensuring access to all forms of culture and recreation. The municipal actions, which include lectures on best practices for people with disabilities, are scheduled to continue through October 2.
