Ribeirão Pires inaugurates first Women's Defense Police Station

The municipality of Ribeirão Pires has delivered its first Women's Defense Police Station (DDM), fulfilling a demand that has existed for over 30 years. Named the 'Delegacia de Defesa da Mulher Dra. Maria Sidney Midolla' in honor of a local lawyer, the facility was built with a municipal investment of approximately R$ 597,635.

Located on Avenida Prefeito Valdírio Prisco near the Municipal Forum, the station is designed to centralize security and justice services to facilitate specialized assistance. The unit is expected to begin providing humanized and specialized services to women victims of violence from Ribeirão Pires and Rio Grande da Serra starting in late October or November.

The establishment of the physical headquarters follows years of advocacy by various civil society groups, legal professionals, and local government officials, transitioning the service from a remote model to a permanent, local presence.
