Ribeirão Pires school targeted by thieves in repeat burglary

The Maria da Glória Barbosa Xavier Municipal School in Jardim Guanabara, Ribeirão Pires, was targeted by thieves on Wednesday morning. Staff arriving at approximately 6:30 a.m. discovered the school gate had been broken into. A monitor was reported stolen during the incident.

This follows a previous theft during the July school holidays, when monitors and a gas cylinder were taken. Local residents and parents have expressed growing concern regarding the lack of security, with some noting that even the school bell had been stolen in the past. Local officials have called on the municipal government to install security totems to protect the school community.
