Ribolla agrivoltaic project faces 15,000-signature protest

More than 15,000 people have signed a petition requesting that the Tuscany Region deny authorization for an agrivoltaic plant project in Ribolla. The movement against the installation is driven by both territorial defense and ethical concerns regarding the company involved.

Activists claim the project is being pursued by SPV Energy 3 srl, which they describe as a shell company for Shikun & Binui. Protesters allege that Shikun & Binui has participated in the construction of the Gaza barrier and provides technology to the Israeli military. The proposed project involves installing solar panels across 35 hectares to produce 19W. Local associations are urging regional authorities to consider the ethical and moral implications of the company’s activities in addition to technical and environmental factors.
