Éric Duhaime ramps up Quebec Conservative campaign efforts

Quebec Conservative Party leader Éric Duhaime is intensifying his campaign efforts in the Quebec City and Drummondville regions. During a visit to Drummondville to support candidates Myriam Cournoyer and Laura Tremblay, Duhaime emphasized the cost of living and inflation as primary electoral issues. He proposed reducing the tax burden by cutting government spending, including a plan to eliminate 20,000 public service positions through attrition and reducing corporate subsidies.

In the Quebec City area, polling aggregators suggest the Conservative Party of Quebec could potentially elect 15 deputies, which would grant the party official status in the National Assembly. Duhaime has focused his strategy on this region but expressed concerns regarding voter turnout outside his concentrated campaign zones.

To fund his proposal for a two-lane bridge connecting the south shore to the south of Île d'Orléans—a project estimated at nearly $3 billion—Duhaime suggested abandoning the current tramway project under construction in Quebec City.
