Ric Flair receives wrestling honor via video due to health issues
Professional wrestling legend Ric Flair was unable to attend the Cauliflower Alley Club’s annual reunion in Las Vegas due to health issues. During the event, held from August 24–26, Flair was presented with the “Iron” Mike Mazurki Award, the organization’s highest honor, via a live video message.
Flair revealed that a blood clot in his leg prevented him from making the five-to-six-hour journey to the ceremony. While he expressed gratitude for the recognition and noted that he otherwise feels well, he did not disclose specific details regarding his diagnosis or treatment. Fellow wrestling figures Jerry Lawler and Jimmy Hart were present at the ceremony to assist with the presentation.
Despite the recent travel restriction, Flair later indicated he would still travel to Philadelphia for a scheduled appearance, stating that the blood clot would not prevent him from flying.
