Éric Zemmour and Nicolas Dupont-Aignan announce 2027 presidential bids

Éric Zemmour, leader of the Reconquête party, has officially announced his candidacy for the 2027 French presidential election. His campaign focuses heavily on immigration and the concept of ‘remigration’. Zemmour has proposed several radical measures, including the expulsion of foreigners who are convicted of crimes, undocumented migrants, and those who have been unemployed for a period of six months to one year, even if they hold legal residency.

Simultaneously, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, chairman of Debout la France, has also confirmed his fourth bid for the presidency. His platform is centered on ‘Frexit’, advocating for France to leave the European Union to regain national sovereignty. His economic program includes reducing fuel taxes and cutting subsidies for wind and solar energy to fund these measures.

Both candidates represent significant shifts toward the far-right and sovereignist wings of French politics as the 2027 election cycle begins to take shape.
