Ricardo Adé and Adel Taarabt announce football retirements

Several prominent international footballers have announced their retirements or changes to their international status.

Haitian defender and vice-captain Ricardo Adé has announced his retirement from international football. The 36-year-old, who currently plays for LDU Quito, concludes a decade-long career with the Grenadiers, during which he earned 62 caps. His international tenure included participating in the 2026 World Cup, marking Haiti's first appearance in the tournament since 1974.

Moroccan midfielder Adel Taarabt has also announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 37. Taarabt, known for his technical skill during his time with clubs such as Queens Park Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur, and Benfica, shared his decision via social media, expressing gratitude to the clubs and fans that supported his 20-year career. He noted that representing Morocco would always hold a special place in his heart.
