Ricardo Aguado named Spain’s Best Secondary School Teacher
Ricardo Aguado, a telecommunications engineer and teacher at Colegio Juan de Lanuza in Zaragoza, has been named Spain’s Best Secondary School Teacher at the National Teacher Prize 2026. The award, presented by Amazon and Amazon Web Services (AWS) in collaboration with the Varkey Foundation and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, recognizes his integration of technology, pedagogical innovation, and inclusion.
Aguado utilizes a methodology he calls ‘Tecnodivergencia Humana’ (Human Techno-divergence). Drawing on 13 years of experience as an engineer working in disability and accessibility, he adapts learning to the unique rhythms and neurodiversity of each student. His approach also encourages students to use technology as creators to solve real-world problems for people with disabilities or dependencies.
The award will be presented on October 14 at the Ortega-Marañón Foundation in Madrid during the national meeting ‘The Future of Education in the Era of Technology’.
