San Luis Potosí Governor announces infrastructure and social welfare initiatives
San Luis Potosí Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona has announced several infrastructure and social welfare initiatives across the state. In Ciudad Fernández, the administration launched a road rehabilitation project on Escontría Street with an investment of 4.84 million pesos and distributed 500 LED luminaries to improve public lighting. Additionally, the 'Regreso a Clases' 2026 program provided nearly 5,000 backpacks with school supplies and over 12,000 food parcels to support local families.
In the municipality of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro Muñiz, with support from the state government, is implementing a modernization program for the public lighting system. This initiative involves replacing low-capacity lamps with high-efficiency lighting and reinforced poles to enhance security and mobility.
Looking toward the end of his administration, Governor Gallardo Cardona indicated that he will make cabinet adjustments to prioritize infrastructure and mobility. A key upcoming project includes the expansion of the 'Red Metro' to the Altiplano region, which aims to connect Ahualulco and Mexquitic with San Luis Potosí to facilitate the daily commute of workers.
