Ricardo Gerardo Guerrero Morales named Tamaulipas health secretary
The state of Tamaulipas appointed Dr. Ricardo Gerardo Guerrero Morales as secretary of health. Guerrero, a UNAM‑trained surgeon who previously led the Governor’s Office, received his nomination from Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya. The head of the SNTSA health‑workers union, Adolfo Sierra Medina, welcomed the appointment but warned that the new secretary must fully respect existing labor conditions and protect workers’ dignity.
In related state actions, the Secretariat of Administration opened a scholarship call for 2020‑2027 for public‑sector employees and their children, and the city of Nuevo Laredo announced a July 11 celebration of its 178th anniversary, featuring live music, food stalls and community activities.
