Ricardo Jobim named second substitute on van Hattem's Senate ticket
Lawyer and entrepreneur Ricardo Jobim, who ran for governor of Rio Grande do Sul in 2022, was announced as the second substitute (suplente) on Marcel van Hattem's Senate ticket for the 2026 election. The first substitute is federal deputy Sérgio Turra. Van Hattem said Jobim brings technical legal expertise and experience as a business owner, noting his familiarity with the economic challenges faced by producers and investors in the state. Jobim, a professor of negotiation, medical and succession law and former president of the Santa Maria OAB, accepted the role, emphasizing a shared agenda of liberty, fiscal responsibility and support for entrepreneurship.
The ticket is being fielded by the Novo party in Rio Grande do Sul, aiming to compete in the upcoming Senate race.
