Ricardo La Volpe discusses football tactics and family legacy
Former Argentine football manager and 1978 World Cup champion Ricardo La Volpe recently shared his views on various figures in the sport. In an interview with DSports Radio, La Volpe criticized the tactical style of Atlético de Madrid manager Diego Simeone, stating he prefers not to watch teams that rely heavily on counter-attacking strategies.
La Volpe also expressed support for Lionel Scaloni to continue leading the Argentine national team, praising the footballing philosophy established under his tenure. Additionally, he commented on Lionel Messi, noting his continued skill and intelligence despite his age.
In a separate context regarding his family legacy in Mexican football, La Volpe’s grandsons are pursuing professional careers. Gianluca Davino La Volpe, a 21-year-old forward, currently plays for Atlante’s U-21 squad, while 20-year-old defender Patricio García La Volpe plays for Puebla’s U-21 team.
