Ricardo Nunes criticizes STF decision to suspend São Paulo Wi-Fi funds

São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes has criticized Supreme Federal Court (STF) Minister Flávio Dino for suspending public funds intended for free Wi-Fi services in the city's outskirts. Nunes argued that the court is overstepping its authority, asserting that the contracts are funded entirely by the municipal treasury rather than federal parliamentary amendments.

The investigation involves contracts between the São Paulo City Hall and the Instituto Conhecer Brasil (ICB). Nunes characterized the police report used in the investigation as a baseless political complaint. The municipal government has filed a request for clarification against the decision to withhold the resources.
