Ricardo Rodriguez returns to Torino FC
Swiss defender Ricardo Rodriguez has officially returned to Torino FC. After a period as a free agent following his departure from Real Betis, the 34-year-old has signed a contract through June 30, 2027, which includes an option for the 2027-2028 season.
Rodriguez previously played for Torino from 2020 to 2024, making 129 appearances and serving as team captain. His return is viewed as a strategic move by manager Ignazio Abate to bolster defensive stability and provide veteran leadership. Rodriguez is noted for his versatility, capable of playing as a left-back or a central defender in a three-man backline.
His career includes significant experience with clubs such as AC Milan, Wolfsburg, and PSV Eindhoven, alongside 144 caps for the Swiss national team, including appearances in four World Cups.
