Ricardo Zúñiga Rosas assassinated in Puebla following reported threats
Ricardo Zúñiga Rosas, a 35-year-old photographer and content creator, was assassinated on the night of Saturday, August 29, in the community of Santa Cruz Atopoltitlán, Tehuitzingo, Puebla.
According to reports, two armed individuals on a motorcycle entered Zúñiga's cleaning product business, ‘Zuma’, and shot him at close range. Although he was transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest.
Zúñiga had previously used social media to report receiving threats after publishing criticisms and photographs regarding local government issues, including the municipal landfill, public works, and resource management. He had warned his followers that these intimidations could lead to personal consequences.

The State Prosecutor's Office of Puebla has launched an investigation, though no suspects have been detained and a specific motive has not been officially confirmed.
