Riccardo Scamarcio film ‘I Figli della Scimmia’ to release in Italy

The film ‘I Figli della Scimmia’, directed by Tommaso Landucci and starring Riccardo Scamarcio, is scheduled for release in Italian theaters on September 17, 2026. The production, which received two awards at the Venice International Film Festival, was filmed entirely in the Piedmont region.

Set in various locations including Turin and the Valle di Susa, the film explores complex family dynamics and the relationship between a man and his teenage nephew. Filming involved local communities and technical support from the Moto Club Trial Training Susa-L’Aura Asd Aps, particularly for high-action motorcycle sequences. The project was supported by the Piemonte Film Tv Fund and the Film Commission Torino Piemonte.
