Riccione cooking class celebrates piadina as Cesenatico piadineria robbed

On Thursday, 6 August, the beach at Marano Beach 135‑136 in Riccione hosted a free cooking class dedicated to the traditional Romagnola piadina. Organized by Costa Hotels and Food In Tour Riccione, the event featured local “azdore romagnole” (Nonne di Romagna) teaching children, families and tourists the preparation of the flatbread. The session was opened by Fausto Ravaglia, known as the “Bagnino d’Europa”, and attended by Mayor Daniela Angelini and Costa Hotels president Bruno Bernabei. The class also included a medieval parade of the Palio del Daino of Mondaino, previewing the upcoming festival scheduled for 20‑23 August.

Later that morning in Cesenatico, the Piadineria del Pescatore was broken into. The thief forced a 30‑centimetre gap in the rear wall, pushed a heavy fridge, and cut himself, leaving blood on the veranda. Only a small amount of soft drinks was taken; no alcoholic beverages were touched. The Carabinieri are reviewing surveillance footage, and the shop has reopened for customers.
