Riccione faces political division over urban zoning and beach concessions

Political tensions are rising in Riccione regarding two major urban and administrative proposals. The first involves changing the zoning of the former Delphinarium from tourist-receptive to residential, which would allow for approximately 4,000 square meters of housing on the seafront. This move has faced opposition from the Democratic Party (PD).

The second issue concerns beach concessions. A proposed project financing model would link the renewal of these concessions to a nearly 15 million euro renovation of the port. Critics have raised concerns regarding competition, compliance with European regulations, and the feasibility of the project. These developments are causing divisions within the center-left majority ahead of upcoming elections.
