Pompei and Riccione support Nobel Peace Prize nomination for Gaza children
Italian municipalities and institutions are joining a symbolic movement to nominate the children of the Gaza Strip for the Nobel Peace Prize. The initiative, proposed by Professor Eugenio Mazzarella, aims to recognize the suffering of children in conflict zones and advocate for their protection.
In Pompei, the proposal has been officially filed with the municipal council. The city aims to use its identity as a place dedicated to universal peace to launch educational programs, cultural events, and seminars focused on children's rights. The project seeks to build a broad movement of awareness through local and international support.
Similarly, the municipality of Riccione has officially adhered to the petition promoted by the newspaper Avvenire. Riccione's mayor, Daniela Angelini, described the support as a necessary act to give a voice to the most defenseless and to reaffirm values of peace and justice. The city has previously engaged in similar humanitarian themes, including memorial events for victims of the conflict.
