Riccione Mayor Daniela Angelini condemns Lega TikTok video as extreme racism

The official Lega TikTok account posted a video that shows a beach in Riccione filled with migrants, accompanied by the caption “POV: it’s 2030, you’re on a beach in Riccione and Matteo Salvini is not interior minister.” The video, originally produced by the German weekly *Junge Freiheit* about the Ceuta crisis, was viewed by hundreds of thousands of users.

Riccione’s mayor, Daniela Angelini, described the content as “extreme racism that stains our city.” She demanded that Matteo Salvini, the party’s leader and Italy’s vice‑premier, apologise to the municipality and have the video removed. Angelini also warned that if the TikTok page is not officially linked to the party, the Lega must intervene immediately to protect the party’s reputation and the city’s honour.

The municipality confirmed that the TikTok profile bears a verified blue badge, has over 200,000 followers, and is followed directly by Salvini’s personal account.
